North Carolina boating and living

Yes , another NC boating / living question :) Im looking for the best location to buy a Home anywhere in the vicinity of Boone , North of Charlotte and Greensboro. I don't need to be on the water but would love a new community with great schools and restaurants/shops within walking distance, and with in 30 min of great boating

We just took our first trip to Lake Norman this summer and LOVED IT. The lake was beautiful, with lots of places to go and see. I can introduce you to a Realtor that knows that area very well; and she's had her own couple of go-fasts boats in the past; IF you want to be down near Lake Norman.

There looks to be a lot of good boating and fishing on Watauga Lake as well per pics and info on the internet. If you jump on the Boat freaks . org website, there are a LOT of NC people on that site who can share some good info for you as well.
