When Do You Replace Your Batteries
The thread about lights dimming got me thinking about my batteries. How many years do you guys go before you replace your batteries??I just looked at mine and they are 5 1/2 years old time.

about every 4 years for me, providing they all are testing good
Every three years. Always give them to somebody and they use them two or three more. Not worth the risk of having trouble on a nice day to me.

I typically keep 3 years - but what I do is but the least expensive battery that I can find with correct amperage, crank etc. I have a lot of luck from Big R or Farm and Fleet -- during the winter I bring them into my lower level - heated and then just charge when the snow is gone. Never had an issue.

I'm on year three....I'll,replace when I have to. I do have a spare though I keep.
4 batteries...just replaced after 8 years. Only replaced because I noticed corrosion on one terminal and when I went to fill with DI water there were had exposed plates. Never once grunted or groaned.
I don't replace batteries, I just get a different boat. 3 in 2 calendar years... Seems to be working, I've yet to be stuck with a dead battery!
I just sold a boat last year to a good friend. The exide orbital deep cycle is still gong strong after 11 years.
whenever the wife starts breaking dishes and kicking my dog...
When they fail.
3 years.
Have had some fail after less than a year...they were replaced under warranty. |
I replace them when they stop holding a charge.
I have 3 batteries, so no worries about getting stranded. |
