Default Miami to KW run, boats won't be in marina???

I just got a message from a friend saying the boats from the Miami to KW run won't be staying in the main marina there by Galleon/Conch Republic??? I hope that's not true because I've always paid the premium to stay at the Galleon just because that's where the action is I'm there for the boats and if they're out in some marina by the airport???? Any truth to this???

We are at the galleon. I heard that a lot of the FPC members are staying on stock island because there is a riff between FPC and Key West Bight marina. Not all the powerboats are running in FPC run. We have 10 boats leaving Fort Myers on Thursday and we are not part of FPC.

A lot of the boaters book privately through the Galleon. I am also sure that FPC will have the boats at Conch.

I sure hope it's a one time thing For me it's all about the hardware that everyone brings in I have to believe that it's a similar rush for the guys that worked hard to build a new or refurb boat to get the masses to enjoy it. I'm on a smaller scale than some of the incredible boats that come in there but when I pull into a local haunt here and turn some heads it feels good.

Everyone is free to park where they want. Just call the Galleon direct, don't go through FPC if that's where you want to be, you don't have to go where Stu goes. Probably save some money doing that way too. Or use the city marina. I think we were parking the Top Guns for about 86 bucks a night and the Rough Rider might have been 100 or so, it's cheap and the people at the city marina are easy going and treat us well.
