Phantom 25 - 1985 model - total overhaul
Hi,
This summer my ol Phantom 25 was hit by a water scooter while being parked for the night. It was in good condition with original gelcoat, and after it was a 2 meter hole in it. Lucky enough it did not sink.
So the boat will be total overhauled. New paint with original scheme and colors. New stainless rubrail. New lanterns, cleats, teak lists, etc etc.
I will post some pictures along the way. Good karma it going to be shiny and nice!
Cheers Toffen

Hi!
The hull will be painted with the same colors and design. They are sanding the whole boat now and removed all gear.
The Malaysian boat is not an original. Its a Malta copy in fact. Phantom was made by Steve Baker in UK from the 70 ties to early 2000. Well known offshore regatta hull.
Enclosed a picture of the damage.
Cheers Toffen

Hi!
Thanks
The beam is 5,5 feet only. The boat lenght is 25 feet.
Phantom was a typical a offshore race hull in UK from late 70ties to early 90 ties. Then raced with twin Merc XR2's.
I have been through 1 x Johnson GT 3,6 V8 Offshore Race engine, Mercury Promax 300 SVS, twin Mercury 2.5 EFI SS engines with PCU's (300 hp each) - and now the best engine of them all - Verado 350 Sci. Hopefully we see a 400 hp soon!

Glad to see you still have her Toffen and that you are doing well. I remember when you repowered to the 350SCI. I sold my Old T-Bred (Velocity) with twin 260s' and put the 260s' on a Talon cat. Take care.

HI!
Nice to hear from you Bob! Your T-Bred was awesome. Talon is a classic
I seriously considered to buy a second hand OL SV29, but have decided to keep the Phantom 25 for a while longer since we now redo her completely.
The Verado 350 sci has been a positive experience. I was a little doubtful since the weight is an extra 100 lbs and the lower unit is big as a submarine. However, the result has been very good. Great balance with a Stainless Marine Gorilla Jack, and fantastic milage. 4,7 MPG at 4,000 rpms and 49 mph cruise. Top speed 81-82 mph which is up 6 mph from the Promax 300 SVS (Brucato smiling jack). However, I am still working on the props since the Rev4 prop break loose if I drive it high. Lots of water pressure. Will test 5bl high rake prop next summer.

The Steve Baker built phantoms are phenomenal race boats 16 ft 18ft 20ft 21ft 23ft and my fav the the 25 ft just looks like a missile they also did a 28.ft they can take plenty of punishment In rough seas without falling apart .
