Sorry, but 18-23 feet waves are for Baja and Donzi owners only... I saw it on the interwebs.
And, since its 37*, I'll add the caveat that wave height means little without consideration of frequency.
Winter. It's here. :food-smiley-007::food-smiley-007:

I was going to go out tomorrow, but I think I'll wait until it lays down to 12-16s. Otherwise my microwave might fall out.

If I had $633 burning a hole in my pocket, and a GPS beacon, I'd buy a Mustang life jacket and a boat off CL and join you.

The video kinda doesnt do the wave heights justice. In person, standing there, really gave me a much better perspective on how nasty it was out there. I could look out as far as the eye can see towards the horizon, and still see swells up/down. I don't know what they were exactly from a NOAA buoy measurement, but I would say well into the teens.

RiReuter 10-31-2014 08:27 PM

That's crazy, couldn't even imagine!

hotjava66 10-31-2014 08:29 PM

NOAA buoy mid lake maxed at 21 feet just before noon but was in teens a good part of the day. As of now southern Lake Huron is kicking up 15 footers at buoy off Goedrich

Videos never do waves justice, trust me Lake Michigan makes some HUGE waves!

They do lose some height in the shallow water crashing onto shore, hard to carry a 21' wave in 3' of water depth......

DocktorsOarders 11-01-2014 02:43 PM

Speaking of bigger water and Apaches always brings me back to this video....
