Cigarette 1040 SD - Some cool pictures!
Some cool pictures of the Cigarette 1040 Stern Drive from the webspecial.

Gorgeous and practical in my book but hard to believe the same company that figured out how to shoehorn 5 of the baddest azz OBs onto the back of the sister boat is going to settle for a pair of 520's!!! Bring on the 1100's

Might wanna look into the weight of that beast, I'm hearing 25k +, that can't be very fast. Wouldn't you think if you introduced a new model & it had some impressive #'s you'd be bragging about them?
We know more about the Mystic 3900 then we do this new Cig & Mystic hasn't completed their 1st boat yet. I'm just saying |
I was on the boat yesterday. I think the weight is 15,000ish dry. Lots of room on it and some cool features. I didn't ask Skip the top speed, but speed wasn't one of the top priorities in the design of this boat.

Just read the specs. It weighs 14,180#

My guess is specs are dry weight, need a weight as tested by testing party not manufacturer supplied weight.
I didn't expect it to be fast but what about fuel economy w/ that power combination? Time to plane & minimum plane speed? |
Does a Top Fish have an 11' beam?

Cigs refusal to use anything but Mercury is what is going to kill this concept. Arnesons and diesels are what this boat needs...

It's a derivative of the 39' TopFish, not the 42' Huntress. The Huntress definitely weighs a hefty amount. The 39's run nicely with trips.

What do you think the cruise will be for this boat with 520's? I'm thinking 1100's would be the package to have if you want a step up in performance in this package.

Where is the innovation? In the build up I kept hearing how that boat was going to have all sorts of features that were going to revolutionize the segment and when the latest CAD drawings came out it looks like all the others. I am sure it will be light, quick and handle well but it is more of the same. My .02 |

I stand corrected I'm told that the new 1040 ran 72mph w/ 4 on board & 2/3's fuel over the wknd.
I think a 700 Merc Cig 41' was ordered during the show. Mystic has a 72" wide helm offering superior wind protection as well as rigid hinged wind blockers to each side of the helm. I want to believe the Mystic will be first to market w/ power reclining rear facing loungers. |

Can't be a 1040 & then order one w/ 700's unless it then becomes a Cig 1400. |

Seems to run pretty flat. There were a few times they were pouring the coals and it runs through whatever pretty gracefully.
Very good looking boat in person btw. |
