Here is a few excerpts:

In conclusion"
Drive it like you stole and the Drive Guardian will do the rest :D

one of the quotes say max input rating of 1160 ft-lbs, do you know where they got that info? is that what a 600 SCi makes? Wonder what the max is for a Bravo X Diesel drive. I got about 700 hours on my drives and no issues but I have been increasing the power of the Yanmars a bit at a time, I wonder what my limit is?

The quote references the published maximum torque rating for a #6 drive which is 1160ft-lbs. You can find the torque ratings on the Mercury Racing website.

The second set of pics is the pinion from this year, same side, same drive. 5 races with the Drive Guardian. I assure you we ran just as hard, coming second in points and winning another World Championship. Same props, same engines. It does have some wear, hence the sheen to it, but no big dents or dings from impact like the first one. Fantastic results.

As a follow up to our experience with the Drive Guardian system, we just had our drive opened up and inspected by Jason Saris at Saris Racing Engines/Performance Marine and the internals of the drive show nothing but normal wear. Can't say that for our drive before we began running the Drive Guardian. Wouldn't race without it now.

Drive Guardian- "Throttle it like you stole it!"
We wouldnt race without them either

The quality and build tolerances of these units are unreal. Well beyond normal marine spec.
The prototypes where jewels. The production ones are state of art.
Price does reflect the quality.

Any recent info on the DG? If I end up keeping my boat I'm thinking of installing a DG over the winter.

Have they figured a way to produce them for less money? I know the product is somewhat in its infancy but now is the time to provide cost savings if you plan to sell them to the masses.

I think the pricing is fair. Whats a gearset cost these days for an XR? 1 little gearset can be almost as much as a drive guardian assembly. Id put the two products in my hands and see which one feels more valuable lol.

Sad when car and truck ring and pinions are a few hundo.
