Outerlimits Building Offshore Racing Cat
.
Awesome! can't wait to see the lines on this beaut! |
That should shack up the SBI Superboat class.
Looking forward to seeing the pleasure version.
I am so glad that are continuing building the best boats out there!
Way cool!!!
Be sweet to see more pics as the project moves forward. Supercat will be an exciting and competitive class again next year as well.
Very interesting to see- with the OL cat, the 388 Skater being built, the new 40 Mystic. It looks like $$ is really being invested in the class. But since we don't know who's building them, we don't know if boats are being replaced by existing teams or if new teams are coming. One thing I know for sure is: they better bring it to run with the Stihl boat. Cause even tho they broke that last race. They were in another zip code!

Wow you aren't kidding they checked out after a few laps and would of never looked back if it wasn't for the issue they had. They had a rough week with issues 2 different days but for sure they will be the team to watch for next yr.
Glad to read that OL is still going strong and will continue to make new and innovated boats for the performance minded customer.
There is alot of competition out there, but customers for these new OL boats will know they will have the best design and build that money can buy.
Keep up the good work boys....Mike would be proud to see you carrying on with these projects. |
I heard ther are 2 new boats from across the pond coming to play next yr. The Superboat call will heat up next yr 4 sure, good to see Amsoil back in the mix. Won't take Bob long to get dialed in a little better he had an awesome showing in KW on Sunday.
Amsoil is also smallest boat in the class. And has had to add weight.
Not sure how much weight Bob had to add on Sunday, but he definitely put it in the right place the boat was flying perfect.
Great to see things continuing at OuterLimits. Danny is the man for the job!
I wonder if this new boat is coming out of the molds mike brought back from lake Havasu a couple of months ago.
Who did the mold ?

I'm sure Steve will put a great program together but its almost impossible for anyone to decide with no info such as management, shedule, entry fee, prize money, medical, rule book, tech inspection, and even classes. The SBI Superboat class isnt even in the APBA rule book but I guess they could just copy the SBI rule book and make it theirs. I believe they still have the original 750 cat class rules? |
Not to steal your thunder, but I am sure that once team Qatar was uninvited from KW, most teams that have interest in the other organization went "silence Mode" as not to have issues in KW. with that gone we can sit back and watch as the hands are played out, in Feb some teams are crossing the pond to play. When and if this new group gets moving is to be seen. as for the new boat find out who's it is and then more will be determined.
I agree time will tell.

One other thing u have to take in account is that the Cup race was also scheduled for last yr and never happened. At first it was Xtreme class and SB class and didnt seem like any takers. Then in Clearwater they said SS and SV. Teams showing interest and actually going are 2 different things there where alot of issues. Teams checked and there personal medical insurance and some personal life insurance didnt cover us out of the US. Another was theft to our equipment being shipped either way. Big concern was getting the boats back in time for the 2014 scheduled at that time, no one could get a firm date. Teams that were interested on racing for a National Championship were concerned. The list goes on not that its a bad thing just a lot more concern then most of the fan on here take into account when they post.
I hear it is beautiful in Qatar and the racing is amazing, but my question is if that is true WHY is Qatar racing in the US and not there? I hear they have some amazing racing in Class 1? |
Maybe Doc is going to campaign a SMB cat....
well it might surprise all of us watching from the sidelines, of the teams that end up going this year be it 1 or 20, I wish them all the luck and everything goes smooth for them, I have attended a Class 1 race as well as X-cat and it is a great time and was treated very well.

Race teams tend to move around to other locations to compete for a variety of reasons, just like some race teams make decisions to change classes, and build new boats on occasion. Doing the same thing over and over again can tend to get rather mundane. Nothing is more constant in life than change. |
I have a question here. I don't know how to write. How many cats have blown over with straight serfice drives compared to our drives that are serfice drives. I ask because outdrives have lift on the hull. Do you get my ???

The Snowy Mountain Brewery boat is a lot of fun to watch in KW each year, and they have a huge fan base.
But Doc/Brian, must getting bored beating the same teams over and over in the SV/SVL Class. It appears that they have NOT lost a race or a KW championship in the past 5 years with 2 different boats. In 2012, they had 2 boats, and finished 1st and 2nd in Key West I wonder if they are moving classes next year, or continue with the SV class?:champs: |
Great news. beautiful boats and fast......Look forward to seeing it in our rearview camera.
