I have Smartcraft but it's pretty dumb. or is it me? :) GO to the Mercury racing website and download the manual. It will tell you.

I've done a factory restart and still isn't recognizing it. My only thought is one of the connections on center engine is loose?

You may have a bad connection somewhere. I would start by connecting a Mercury CDS to each engine and set the engine location.
Since it's a triple, you will have to label them as: Port - Port Outside Center - Stbd Inside ( It will show physically show as center engine on the vessel view when completed ) Stbd - Stbd Outside Then Perform a Vessel View factory default reset. Select as triple engine, and follow all prompts and calibrate as needed ( tanks / tabs if needed ) Hope this helps Alan Gordon Service Manager [email protected] |
Like Alan said. If the center motor is a right hand rotation the computer comes from the factory set to stbd. It will have to be changed with a Mercury computer. Once they are all set up properly there is a setting in the vessel/raceview also for multiple engines.

How can we purchase the Mercury CDS software?
|
I'm not exactly sure on where to purchase without being a dealer. However if you are near any Mercruiser dealers - chances are they have a CDS and you could have them program for you. It should take them no more than 30 minutes to complete.

A rinda scan tool can program that for you also. Cost about $400.
BTW, what boat and what tripps are you working on? Just curious. |

I'm still having this issue (haven't taken to dealer yet). I just installed a new vessel view race edition and when going through the setup, I called the center engine "center". Should I scroll through and see if there is a stbd 2 option, which is what it was originally called?
I got into the dash and unplugged the white rectangular Mercury racing boxes to see if that was it but even when unplugging the port and stbd engine, nothing changed on the vessel view display. The vessel view manual has 0 troubleshooting section. Is there a fuse on the engine somewhere specifically for the smartcraft? |
Follow "Double Rigged's" suggestion. He KNOWS this stuff!

I had that problem when I was doing my center engine also. tThe center motor has to be set to either port 2 or starboard 2. Its been a while and I cant remember which one. So just try one and if it doesn't work, then try the other.
|
I will try that. Thank you!!
