Actually, I think it's been FOREVER that the racers have cried out for someone with deep enough pockets, or strong enough connections, to take the reigns and make the sport something and we all hoped it could be. Now that may have come about(certainly from a funding side) and people are trying to tear it down before it gets started.

I realize a lot of the gripes come from the teams that may not have a class in the new tour. Unfortunately that is the reality of making it a viable sport. Hopefully they can get an "undercard" race system set up at certain sites. Hate to use the "N" word here but NASCAR does have trucks on Fri and Nationwide on Sat before the big show on Sunday.

Given a chance it certainly can't be any worse than previous attempts. And I have yet to see the people behind it do anything that isn't at least reaching for first class.

Dont get me wrong. I hope they succeed at making racing a cohesive entertaining, sustainable profitable sport. Just without unplausible denial and me as the company muppet. (Though if the pay is worthwhile, I wouldnt be all that against being the company muppet)

But, and it is indeed a big BUT,(and I cannot lie......:daz:) we are all aware who unofficially(thanks JC&SBI) is the driving force and funds behind the new entity. And that team/country/group has certainly attempted to do everything with first-class preparation.

After your Devil's advocate posts in the Cobra thread you get my vote to give all sides to a story. Or at least ask for them.

I think some people are afraid it will succeed and they won't be the big fish anymore as there is big money over there and around the world to race and win.
