New Waterproof Mariner Drone for boaters

1 Attachment(s)
I've been putting off getting a drone for a while now because I knew with the photography I do it would end up in the water. Well I finally came across the MARINER drone that sparked my interest so I pulled the trigger. I received it last week and have done some testing and video so everyone can see what it is about. On my site- http://www.performance-images.com/Po.../Mariner-Drone . It is similar to the phantom but larger with bigger engines and 12" props. It comes in an RTF and Full FPV package with Go-pro Gimbal, LCD Screen, VIdeo transmitter. The waterproof mode which you can fly a waterproof gopro is what I tested in the video below. The full FPV version with stabilized gimbal is not waterproof because of the gimbal electronics.

They are not stocked in the US yet but if you are interested in one shoot me a PM or email and I can get you more information or get one on order for you.

Very cool! thanx for the video, I`ve always been concerned about buying one and having it go for a swim.

That will add a whole new dimension in water with more clarity, like the keys.
What's next? Reverse the props and cruise around underwater?

Very cool, there's a dead dji phantom about 75 yards off my dock :picard1::poopoo:

Awesome... we are looking for another one, thanks for the information!

These look to be around $400, is that correct? 12-14 run time? How do they do with a go-pro? Are they as easy as a Phantom to fly?

Baldie,
I think you found a price for the very basic model without the radio and receiver. List price on the RTF package is $899 and the full FPV package is $1799. The FPV package comes with 3200mah batteries and I got 13 minutes with go-pro attached. It has an optional 4200mah that should get it a few more minutes. I have minimal experience with the little RC helicopters and this thing is a breeze to fly compared to them. The return to home feature controlled by the GPS is pretty amazing as well. I flew it out a little to far this weekend and lost my barings on which direction it was going. I just turned off the radio and it came back and landed within 5 feet of were it took off.

One other thing to note that I haven't had a chance to test yet is a rumored flight speed of 50+mph with a good pilot. It seems like it has plenty of power for it.

I heard last week that the FAA says you need a pilots license to fly one.
