We both agree that if we go back to a I/o BBC boat. A. CIG TG/Cafe with some nice blower motors and a 80-90mph top is what we both enjoy the most.

I was saying that we should give the layperson rides to try and get them into boating... In response to " it's not needed" I can appreciate the fact that you took a ride that fast and have been to the edge. I'm sure it's different when being a driver like a said in my last post. And I would love... No wait..." Need" to find out for myself lol. I will always be chasing mph. Always have, always will. I left all my recreational chemical enhancers behind in my late teen years and have kept that void FULL of adrenaline hahaa!

I'd give my left nut go 160 ride in a boat. I would even pay! There boats capable of that on the lakes I boat around here. Actually they banned any boat over 26' 11'' capable 60+ mph. There excuse for the law was wake from speed boats and boaters was causing excessive wash of outrageously overpriced waterfront real estate . Lake martin in central al. I'm sure you see how much sense this make! Pisses me off to know end and has slot to do high performance boats dying off around here. Now massive cruisers riding with there bow pointing at the 12:00 sun and wake board boats that keep there wake enhancer bladder full! All but one marina are owned by the same person ( owns every thing from hospitals to golf courses) where they sell wake board boats and searays. Also owns massive amounts waterfront land. Funny how the it all ties together huh?

That's why my screen name is Offshore Dreamer & not Offshore Driver! Sadly that will probably never change.

Ahh the cost of med school!

By me we kinda had that same problem with one douche that had restaurants on the water and was friend$ with the harbor master. They imposed a speed limit in the bays and harbor. Only good thing is out in the sound there is no speed limit to speak of and good luck catching me anyway. I used to put my 90mph hydrosteam in at my fathers house on the bay. They would chase me into the bay thinking that there was no way out.... I would have the boat on the trailer and in the front yard before there pos tug boats even made it into the bay. Good times. But good luck on a lake!

So that's 7 months your $50,000 boat investment is sitting there, costing you ridiculous insurance premiums. then in the 5 months you do use it, maybe twice a week...............

Not picking on you personally Coryc but that right there is a main reason the boating world is hurting. Why would a 20 something go 50 grand in debt for a boat? Why is it they think they have to have a turnkey go fast or nothing at all? Today I have 4 pretty cool classics by anyone’s standards and I don’t have 50 grand into all of them and never would and I’m closer to 50 years old then 40. In my early 20’s I had a 17’ Larson Veloro Sport. The true Pinto of the boating world but it was the baddest Pinto on the bay. Hell I’m just starting to get the boats I wanted as a kid and I’m never going to get the boats I see today unless I live to 100. Just the way it works. Not so bad though. The 60’s and 70’s were the hay day of boat design IMHO. The key is not to go in debt in the first place. There is a couple ways about going about it but too long to go into here but I do it. 50 grand in my 20’s would have never crossed my mind.

I'm in my early 30's. Lots of my friends are in their 50's and 60's and they still party like they'e in their 20's. With a 60 yr. old's bankroll.
