IMO price is to much. Owner claiming 7gph at 40mph is WAY off. Probably more than double that.

Appreciate the opinions... Is the boat worth 30k even?

To much coin. I wouldn't be concerned with a step bottom or not. Just get the boat you want for the price you are happy with. I started with a 1992 26' Thouroughbred (Velocity) but wanted to fly so I bought a cat. Best of luck on your hunt and keep us posted as to what you buy.

For 35k I would try and buy the 29 with the single HP500 from the classifieds on here, or if you want twins and a little bit larger you might find a 32 for that money.

FYI, I dont know or have never seen that boat, just using it as an example.

That thing looks CRAZY clean for a 94. Couple things, in case you are/werent aware, the 525Sc is not 525 hp as the ad states, it is 490, They are a very good reliable package and make a decent platform to build on if one was inclined. That being said, the boat is a 94 so IMO the price is high, however, if you like something enough...............it is worth exactly what the highest bidder is willing to pay.

I would say it is worth around $25k. The 27 never pulls a lot of money, because the 29 rides better and is faster with the same power. I also suspect that the boat won't run anywhere near the 78mph claimed top speed. Probably more like 72mph.

$20k for a 97 stepped hull. No relation to boat/seller.

That's steep for the age. Like others have said, if that's what you like, it could be worth every penny to you.

Do some more shopping. I paid $35k for my first Fountain- 99 29' 525 SC. Just saying.

Don't 525sc like gas ALOT more then 500efi or 525efi? Something else to think about.
