Default Water skiing near 140 mph - crazy Aussies! :)

Hi,

Maybe its been posted before, but this is water skiing on the fastest ... 21-22 feet boat near 140 mph inshore with 2 skiers behind. And the accelleration - hot cow!

Cheeers, Toffen

They are just small 21 to 23 footers with big engines and skiers with big cojones.

Forget the speeds, if you fall in that river you probably have to swim faster than that to escape the crocodiles.

There's another video showing the boats and some of the mishaps they have. Like heading straight into the river bank!!

The Stinga boat in that video is owned by a good friend Greg Houston. Greg's son, Jack Houston, I navigated for 4 years at the Catalina Ski Race, we won our class 3 of the 4 races. Jack is insane, at 14 years old he had skied well over 110 MPH. Jack is also a class world champion.

Toffen,
I have seen in videos 21' boats with one of mercs 1350 hp turbo motor coupled to a #6 drive. You have to have a death wish to be dragged at those speeds. The boat ride on the other hand............sign me up!

These guys are running twinturbos engines Essentially in a Schiada type hull. Most are running # 6 drives or V drives, some Arnesons from the looks of it to.

1200 HP enine in a 23 ft medium v hull - 140 mph no problem

G'day mate
