Great customer support, autometer
Hello all.
I just had a great experience and thought I'd share. I bought a full compliment of autometer pro comp marine gauges for my restoration a year ago or so. 11 gauges and several transducers. Well, I didn't start to install and wire them until last month. Upon completion of the install, I was admiring the console and noticed that the trim gauge had the pointer on the wrong side of the pin. Instead of resting on top of the pin, it was under the pin and would not move. Seeing as I bought the gauges a year earlier and unpacked it I figured I'd get the 'ol "it's out of warranty and you need to take it up with the vendor" line when I called autometer. Not so! I called autometer directly and talked to a nice guy in "tech". He had me send it back with a brief description of my problem, my phone number and address. I sent it back last Monday and received it back 8 days later in a repaired state. No charge! That's 8 days including shipping back and forth! I was so happy that they stood behind their product and took care of business in a professional and timely manner. Just thought I'd share as we hear so much negative when dealing with marine equipment suppliers. Here's the console minus the trim gauge that went in for repair. I'm super happy with the fit and finish and overall quality: http://i205.photobucket.com/albums/b...ps8573ef6d.jpg http://i205.photobucket.com/albums/b...psff2cc582.jpg |

Speedo (8 function GPS) Tach Fuel level Fuel psi Oil temp Oil psi Water temp Water psi Voltmeter Vacuum Trim Probably should have an AFR gauge too. I may look into that yet. |
I've had those gauges for about 4 years now. Not a bit of trouble with them, and they still look brand new. Very happy with them.
Glad to hear stood behind their product |
I have a set that I pulled out of my Cafe this year. Most didn't work, needles are faded, and there is moisture behind the lens. I figure I will throw them in a box and send them off to autometer to have them refurbished for future products. It is very encouraging to hear they are so receptive to help.

Nice spread. I don't have vacuum and I subbed my trim for fuel pressure.

They are probably 10 years old. I don't expect a free repair by any means but hopefully they won't just tell me they need to be replaced.

Good to hear, I went with Autometer this rebuild and this makes things a whole lot better knowing about their customer service.
