Fuel, Load, Conditions, etc...I think if we assume that all of these are absolutely perfect, most of the numbers work...or are close at least.
I forgot how well a 33 AVS Scarab runs. What an under-rated hull design.

cool list!
Thanks MT.

John

You are dead on accurate on the 33' Scarab AVS, Powerboat named it the offshore boat of the year in 1998.

Maybe I'm biased, but I agree. That 84.7 they listed seems a little hot though, as mine with HP500s could barely peg an 80mph speedo. 600 hours motors though, so probably a bit tired. New power for next year should bring me past the mid 80s!

Im sure all these boats tested were new from there factories for these test. That being said I would bet that they are all dialed in just a little better than the average boat sold out the back door. It would be there show boat to sell more boats off these performance test that we all read. I would expect them to all be faster than what we buy off the show room floor with stock props and possibly lower X dimensions. Thanks for sharing the list. What a great reference for boat buyers. Look at all those adds that people say there boats go way faster than they possibly can go with the same power listed LOL

I'm having trouble with the 25 daytona, 980hp doing 117.2, 900hp doing 101.9, a Pfaff 610 hp doing 104.3 and an 800hp doing 110.1,

Is there any way to dig up the articles on the web to see what they had to say?

tmmii 12-30-2014 07:22 PM

So how many of you are hoping your insurance company doesn't get a copy of this? Lol

We sold Whipples to a guy with a 33, he made stupid big power and I have a picture of his GPS at 118. We have another customer with smaller blower motors we did the EFI mapping for, runs damn near 110 and rock solid. Great hull.
