Default US Engines? Any opinions?

Looking around the net and found these guys on Ebay. Has anyone tried them for a rebuilt 454/420hp. I'm not looking for big power. Just reliable power. Point me towards some other rebuilders.

We all have our pet shops. You'll probably hear send it to XX!!

It seems these guys understand sterndrive applications and Marine in general, but really specialize in auto.

An opinion would be that there are tons of guys on these boards would build you more power per dollar given the conservative nature of this companies performance claims.

On the West coast we got

Alexi - Boostpower
Obnoxious
Bob Teague
Gary Teague

Wildly popular here on the forum you got

BobMadera - Marine Kinetics - this guy gets great HP numbers - and gives great cam advice.
Tommy at Chief
Ateko
Young

In the Middle South you got Tyler Crockett.

Any of these guys can do a rebuild for you and give you a mild build that will work forever.

Do you get a dyno sheet saying what your mill actually makes?

Many of these guys on here volunteer their time to give us all helpful info and I tend to want to give back to them when and where feasible.

Based on their literature the products seem well rebuilt and likely pretty decent.

To the OP you better pass on this one. One is they offer a 7 year warranty and I have oceanfront property in AZ for sale too. Also if I think who this company is plus they have changed names numerous times thru out they do very poor at what they advertise. I would google the comment section about them and see if I am correct. IMO I think I have the right company and wouldn't use their stuff even if it was almost free..

I did the homework for you. Yep I had the right company. Read away and there is a story book more in other places as well.

I do know first hand by a few of past customers that bought their crap some years ago and when they carried a different name. Cob Job engine rebuilder whatever you want to call them period.

One link below of the many have fun and hope you have sometime. 2 full pages right below alone with pics too.

I am in Tyler Bup. Do you have a shop in Ft Worth? If I keep my old Scarab, I want to do a re-power or rebuild the 454Mags. Who around here can get it done reasonable.

I use to have a couple of Boat dealerships but moved out this year. I still work on a lot of my customer base only. Really not taking on new customers. Also really want to grow my fuel injection / injector testing& cleaning service. I do have access to a machine shop in Ft.Worth so yes I have built plenty of marine engines in my day. Around here is very poor for any marine rebuilders on the marine end. I could recommend the 2 shops around here but price is high and they are true performance builders high end.

I would probably do what every other marine shop around here would do for you, either short or long block your app new or remaned especially for pricing concerns. I am still set up with all the marine OEM's and all the engine remaners. I can order whatever needed new and reman from whomever in the marine industry and elsewhere. You can call me if you need to discuss further even if you are not going to use anything from me. www.boatsun.com yes website still up but not at the location anymore. Also I can tell you who not to use around the country as I have seen a lot of stuff in my day.
