Great fun with speed discussion in the thread, please feel free to continue :-)
I am not going into this now, but continue with the last of the 4 Norwegian boat brand Predator Boats. Of course there are a lot of other good and nice boatbulilders in Norway, among them Windy as Toffen mentioned :-) |

4. Predator Boats Pure Norwegian hard core performance boats :-)
www.predatorboats.no Located in the Arendal a cosy town in the south coast of Norway, earlier hosted many Class One Offshore races :-) This is in my opinion the only real performance boat builder in Norway. The founder Andre has been working at Nor Tech, and he is a certified Mercury Racing mechanic Our mechanic is certified for Mercury Racing T.E.A.M. installations and engine services (T.E.A.M. - Technical Engine Application Management) Throughout many years in Florida, USA working with custom boat builders such as Nor-tech H.P.B.C. gives us special competence in building fast boats, custom rigging and expertise in all types of high performance boat engines. Hi,
For me if I should buy a performance boat for approx NOK 2 million in Norway, I would choose a OL SV29. You have the size, the handling, the speed and the amneties. A new Hydrolift 24RR with 600 sci will cost approx the same. I agree its two different beasts, but moneywise the same. And then is wise to compare. For a long time Norwegians for the most part looked for Norwegian built performance boats. Nor-Tech has a good standing due to Trond and Nils Norwegian heritage, but its very few US performance boats around except for Nor-Tech, Fountain and Formula. Laveycraft has very nice hulls as well. 2750 and 28EVo to name two. Runs 90 mph + with a single 525 :) Cheeers, Toffen

Toffen you could also do like I did, buy a complete rebuilt Formula 271 SR1. Put in a blue Merc 502 with 560 HP (Dyno tested this autumn) for les then 25% of the mentioned amount. And then hope for the best ;-)

Hi Monaco,
I have always dreamed about a Formula 353 Fastech - classic lines. But unfortunately two engines! The same apply to another great boat - Cigarette Gladiator :) My wife is an avid fan of Outerlimits. Ha ha ! I will try to chase some pictures of High-Tec which I beleive were the hulls Trond and Nils made before moving to US. Cheeers, Toffen |
Some more Scandinavian boating fun this goes on every summer in Stockholm Sweeden :-)
Enjoy http://www.cormate.com/index.html |
