Default Go Pro vs Garmin

I have a chance to pick up a Garmin VIRB Elite via a rewards program. Any opinions on how they compare with Go Pro cameras. I have always liked Garmin products and am very familiar with digital SLR but not much with the action video cameras.

Thanks,

Padraig

I have one and like it. Built in WIFI, GPS and unit can be controlled via their app. Also coming in the future will be control from their GPS's.

I have both.....I like the fact with the Garmin that it would track your course and your speed....the audio was very windy but I have only used it once and there may be a setting that reduces wind noise

I bought the Countour GPS models.. They work great.. Thought about the Garmin as they advertise to the aircraft crowd heavily.

For some reason don't love the GO Pro we have.

I'm about to pull the trigger on either the Contour 2+ or replay prime http://replayxd.com/ or Hero 4. The video (because of the lens) and sound are supposed to be great with the Prime X. Anyone have one? 3 + hour of record time is definitely attractive too.

Thanks everyone! Nice video, Pete!

I think I will be happy with the Garmin, lookls like good quality and shows the speed. Plus as it is a Priority Club reward item I won't be laying out cash.
