The pawn shop would be the loser in that deal.

I just got off the phone with Mac (owner of Cottonwood). There is plenty of room for boats & trailers at the marina. There will be a band playing friday night starting at 8pm & also after the races on saturday. We'll also get organized for some sort of pre-race party on friday night. The following is a list of local places to stay near the marina. We're in the process of seeing if we can arrange some discounts for all of you coming from out of town at the Super 8 in Blair. It's located on N Hwy 75 & their number is 1-800-800-8000 or 402-426-8888. Other motels in the area are:
Econolodge 402-426-2340 in Blair
Blair House 426-4801 in Blair
Across the river in Missouri Valley, IA are:
Rath Inn 712-642-2723
Days Inn 712-642-4003
Super 8 712-642-4788
Hope this helps. I also heard the other email address I gave was not working. If you need to reach me & cannot get through on that one, try [email protected]

I know. My husband setup the username so I'm just using that one for now. Yes, there's a bridge that goes directly from Blair to Iowa. Missouri Valley is about 10 min away.

Riverland Park Resort- I just got off the phone with Fred, he is the sweet little old man that answers the phone...BTW the number is 402-426-3659.
They have space if anyone is thinking about camping/RVing.
He said $20.00 a night for a RV spot with full hook up.
But he thought I was so sweet that he said if we are coming up for the Shoot-Out, he would give us all a $2.00 discount.
Which makes it $18.00. He also said he would do a full breakfast for $5.00 extra. He usually stops the breakfast the first weekend in Sept. but would go ahead and serve for the Shoot-Out and because I was so sweet.
So that is that if any of you are planning on camping/RVing.

H2OCOWGIRL,
I would say only 4. It is only 24 ft. long. It is not one of those big mac daddy campers.

I haven't heard back about room discounts yet but will post something as soon as I do. If anyone needs to reserve a boat slip for the week-end, please let me know & I'll add your name to the list I've started. I will need to know if you'll need electricity & the size of your boat.
