powerquest 290 enticer

I would like to know the good points and bad points of this boat. Any information about this boat would be very helpful to me.

I had a 2000 290 with 454 non mags before this boat and it was an awesome boat. 70 all day everyday!

Had a 1999, had a great time with it. Went to a 38 PQ for the extra room and head.

My 94 was a great weekend boat, one of my best ever.

These are fantastic boats,
I had a 98 powerquest enticer 290FX, it was totally reliable and had great power just a beautiful easy to trailer and easy to maneuver boat. I wanted to upgrade to the 38 PQ, but ended up with a 38 scorpion instead.

1998 29 FX with 454s was my first boat, and the one I gave the name which is my handle here on OSO. Great turn-key boat. TONS of room in the cabin for a boat that size...plus mine had a microwave and a fridge...it was a terrific weekend boat and an excellent choice for us as our first boat.

Downsides: VERY tight engine compartment. Replacing an impeller was NOT a fun task by any means! Rough-water ride left something to be desired...but that also could have been a function of it being a smaller boat (really only 26-27 feet of running surface due to swim platform) AND the fact that I didn't really know how to drive, lol. She also liked to chine-walk when pushed to her limits...usually around 70 mph on speedo (not GPS).

Dead ringer for my buddy's '97 that came from Lake MI. Another plus with these boats is rear seat passengers have great visibility forward. Rare in performance boats.

I need some help with the ignition switch and lanyard wiring diagram...my friend took my dashboard apart and now neither engine starts up independently..both key switches need to be turned on at the same time....a quick picture of the key switch would help greatly...THANKS
