Baja 405 Questions
Hi, There is a 2006 Baja 405 on Ebay for 70k, with 400 hours on 496 HO's. I am coming from a 33' Outlaw and wanted more of a cruiser. We will be using it in the Pompano/Lauderdale area. Anyone have any input on them? Comfort, top speed, pros&cons? Thanks a lot

I would find out how much time that boat has spend on that trailer. It is NOT set up well. Some of those boats did have some issues with the stringer/liner configuration (separating). Given that trailer is not providing very good support, I'd want to see how it's been supported since new. I would not worry about the power, they should be fine for 600, 800, maybe even 1000 hours. Those that have them, like them very much. They have a lot of creature comforts. |
That is a clean looking boat, but good call on the trailer it looks about 4 foot short.

I really love my Baja. Just get it checked out from a qualified tech.

Raleigh nc, (wild Baja) what kind of baja do you own, and where did you take it out at?

I've heard a lot of 496 water reversion issues and with 400 hours on the motors, the top ends should be gone thru. outdrives probably need some inspecting too.

Look at the front. The boat isn't even strapped on. I bet it just was sat on that trailer for pics recently. The trailer was not made for that boat. The trailer looks new.

That boat has been listed for a while. The one thing that I noticed before (the picture is now gone) is teh engine compartment seemed strange. The location where the generator sits seemed open. It seems some items may be missing from the description
As far as the 405 is concerned we absolutely love ours. . |
