My buddy is looking a waterfront townhouse in Boca Raton. There is a huge double point mansion on the other side of the canal. Realtor says the guy invented the Bennett trim tab but he died last year. House is insane from the pics he sent me.

Realtor was slightly misinformed. Charles Bennett invented the Bennett trim tab, around 1960.
Blake Bennett operated the company.

Edit: after looking at the link to the house, it credits Charles as the inventor and Blake as the founder of Bennett Marine.

It just sold. Pretty close to $6Million. Its a really cool house. Google Earth needs to do "canal" view in addition to "street" view. LOL

One of the only double lot point homes set up that way around here. I was surprised it was only $6M. Very masculine but not gawdy, you can tell the guy was badass. There are a few homes just north of there that sold for a lot more that weren't as exclusive IMHO...

Of course he was. He was born in Detroit.

I lived on that same street but on the southern side of that point of land.

He was restoring some old wooden boat for a number of years, a large 50 or 60 foot cabin cruiser, he had it at his dock right up the canal from my dock.

Used to be a nice area that did not have speed zones.
