Exactly!!!!!!
The dealer you bought it from should have given you the MSO or Title when you bought it. He left it at asecure agreed upon place and that is how I got it. No tags, no paper work for them either. Remember I did NOT buy the trailer from the trailer manufacturer direct. I got it from the BOAT dealer who ordered it and sold it via his dealership. Every check I wrote was to the boat dealership for all transactions. |
The dealer should have still given you the MSO or a Title at some point.
Its just like buying a brand new car off the lot from a car dealership. The dealer gets an MSO from Ford, Chev, etc. |
It's been said once... And I will say it again. Give this place a call. lol had similar issues.... No mus no fuss... Easy as can be.

Its just like buying a brand new car off the lot from a car dealership. The dealer gets an MSO from Ford, Chev, etc. And he never did. Actually I never once saw, met, or shook hands with the dealer ever. Inam not saying he never got it at some point, I am saying he never gave it to me. Actually he gave me ZERO paper work. The only paper work I have is via my bank side of it all. They are in south FL, me in Tampa, looked at the boat on a Sunday when his dealership was closed but he phoned in to just have the boat put on a rack the day before for me at the marina. Bought it, signed everything, and all that jazz via emails and wire transfers. I go out of country and the boat was dropped off. Never once a single personal interaction. The MSO is with the dealer still and he has yet to get it to me. Now he is tied up ( i understand) and then am hoping he gets it to me after he is done. However I asked for a simple faxed copy well before Hus current event and hold up. |

No official bill of sale.
I have an email saying, pay $X amount and that total amount is $X trailer and $X taxes.. |
After a couple phone calls this morning, my advice is-
GET THE PAPERWORK FROM THE DEALER. If you have to show up at his door, so be it. I say this because I just tried to get a replacement sticker from Continental due to the sticker fading. Continental representative at the factory told me because the dealer that purchased the trailer was no longer in business, I was up sh*t creek. |
Had a very similar issue . I had the invoice on the new trailer I purchased from a named boat dealer. As many months went by i realised i had no trailer documens.Ultimately the boat dealer had to contact the trailer manufacturer and get me a new MSO . That document with my bill of sale from the dealer I was able to register the trailer. That is how it went down in Florida ( size and weight of your trailer will determine if its a reg doc or an actual certificate of title for the trailer .)

This is how I am hoping it will go. Sending him and email today to try this one last time. He should be done with what he had to do here this week. So just hoping it goes smooth and get this over with. I did call Staab and that is an option. The only hang up would be if it is a FL buyer that wants to finance, the bank more than likely wont take that info as "good enough". |
