Unfortunately, that probably won't stop the family from bringing suit against your friend. You should know by now that anyone can sue anyone for anything these days....... .

That is sad news, I feel bad for the party’s involved! But how do you avoid something like that?

so sad to hear
Like some say, seems to get worse. But i agree with the others saying it is just because there is a larger span of people reporting things.
I would never have heard about this in Minnesota.

Sad for those that do not think about the actions they take for a thrill ride.
Every time I push the throttles forward I think what IF I lost a prop at 80+, what if someone pulls out in front of me, what if.
Biggest thing to think about is life is real short for some. I lost a friend over hte weekend of hte Shootout. I did not find out until a week later. He was 44 and died of medical conditions. Left behind a beautifull wife and 3 addorable daughters.
He enjoyed everything he has learned to make life fullfilling. But now others might suffer at thier loss.
People need to think BEFORE they act. That includes what I will assume the majority of us here at times. I can think back to a couple things I did down at LOTO that could have went bad real quick. Am so glad that they did not.
But what IF?

I can only hope and pray that the driver and passengers of the 42' will get through this either on thier own, or with the help of friends and family. I can only imagine that they might think twice to take the boat out agian. Sad to say but it is possible. I have know a few people that will never drive a car again because of a fatal accident they were in. Sad but true.

Prayers out to the family and friends of all involved

This is the second time someone I know has had a PWC ram them. There's no way to avoid it Steve, as you well know. The cruiser hides the PWC until it's too late for both of you.

A real shame....

the prblem with those jet boats and PWC is that any idiot with 10k can go out and buy one and think he has a real boat. When they really have no idea what they are doing. Here in NY they made the safety course mandatory. Still doesn't stop people from riding without taking the safety course.

Sorry tohear abotu yoru buddies situation. That sucks. AT least HE didn't get hurt.

we were up there on sat and left sun, kept the boats at eastport, had the slingshot, 26 AO, and a 28 donzi parked on the dock by famous daves, talked to our friend MU before they headed off on Sun. there was a ton of boat and pwc traffic out over the weekend. just a sad misfortune.
