Lets finish the silly season ...454 question
Im looking to make 500min, to 525 max hp and not eat bravos for lunch.
What I have is a gen6 block, mag crank and rods and holly efi. CAn this be done on reg rectangle heads with cam alone (say 52~5500 rpm) or will I need heads? which heads?? |
yes

What do you have for exhaust?
|
Try a water/methanol injection while running 91 octane eth/meth blend, depending on the AFR.

Exhaust is pretty much a given, but gills, emi's and sm's are in the swapshop all the time,

Gils at the very least . . . . she gonna hafta breathe :D That part# has a 2000cfm throttle body. 1000cfm -1200cfm will be much easier to program on a 454 with that hp goal. IMHO. Anyway Phragle - yeh, your hp is doable. Upper 5k rpm. Will be fine on the drive unless you drive the boat like you did when you raced offroad. What compression are you comfortable with ? What octane can you get all the time ? |
My driving style..eh....... the efi was off of an innovation 600. Compression wise, Im on the conservative side, more like the "want to be safe if I end up with junk fuel somewhere side"....
The goal is a nice dependable motor that will push my little resin bucket mid 70's. with the 310 454 Im at 61 right now, Im thinking another 200 hp and 7/`800 rpm should do it... |
