I'm on my 100th plus motor. Still makes me nervous until weeks after its running to the point that the wife asks why I still do it. All I can say to you is, it is what it is. Good or bad just go from there. Good luck.
|
Was going to ask for an update, but you're probably on the water.
Fingers crossed for you. Good luck |
Best of luck to you! I just drove 6 hours for drive service.
|
It won't be the last lol. Good luck hope it works out. After all it's not reall rocket science . But it is nearve racking. Did I forget something. Did I tighten that. Why are the controls reversed.....**** it's the props. Good luck

Nervous is a good thing. It keeps you on your toes and makes you triple check everything.
Best of luck! |
Don't sweat it. Take you time and it will be fine. It's only parts. If they break, someone will make more.

no dyno or run stand before installing it in the boat?

Today was a waste though. Wife's tahoe broke down in Maryland so had to drive 3.5 hours to replace a starter. |

Success....
Had a couple gremlins to work out but got it running. Biggest pain in the ass was the Thunderbolt wasn't grounded on account of the fresh paint. Took most of a day to track down. I'm sure if you did this every day it would have taken 10 minutes, but I blew an entire day.... Had problems with it backfiring and not starting until I put a bunch of advance in it. I have the Thunderbolt IV with the 20 advance but I am wondering if I'll need to go to something with less advance so I can run more base timing. I'll start another thread in GA tech on point. Hopefully some of you guys can point me right. I will say though it ran better and idled better than it EVER did before..... |
Congrats! Great sense of accomplishment I'm sure!
|
Maybe just the video sound but it sounds lazy. Check timing , firing order, ignition wires making good contact on plugs and Dist cap..........
Like I said it might just be the sound Congrats on a job well done |

i recently did a pair very similar to yours, the v6 module works good with the weiand 177.i don,t know what parts you used but they can make good power with some compression.btw, good job,it looks good.
