If he has had it for 14 yrs than he has no one but himself to blame for that paint job.
Kinda like that old green shag carpet....was the bomb in its day.

i always though the 3100 AO was based one the chris cat ???
I know teh new 3800 is a brand new hull designed and biult from scratch.

I think your right Puder.

A Chris Cat is not an AO, nor could you call an AO a Chris Cat. They are from 2 different companys from 2 different era's, with one thing in common. The AO came from the origional Chris Cat mold and has had some refinements over the years.

i wasn;t saying that an AO was indeed a chris cat just atht iot was based on eth chris cat design, the 3100 that is.

Scott from AO (the owner) was the one who told me the 3800 was a brand spankin new design. I didn't ask about the 3100 though...

Puder you are right, it is and all I was trying to get across is that because it looks simular, dosen't mean someone calls it the same. Kind of like some non boaters calling all V-hulls a Cigarette boat. :D This one kills me. If it goes over 35 mph and does not look like a pontoon they call it a speed boat. :D

Heeey! how did 29 scarab change his original post title from AO to Chris Cat. :D

Chris Cat

How do the Chris Cat's drive and handle?

I know they were leaders in the offshore catamaran ranks. The 1986 Jesse James was a Chris Cat wasn't it?

My recollection is these boats are fairly wet up until about 35 mph and then really packed air.

Boating magazine did a comparison test, 2 30' CC's w/ identical power 400 hp 454's one a Cat and the other a deep v. The cat was faster of course, but I don't remeber the details.
