My Hustler came with xr 1.50 30p bravo one 4blades, previous owner switched to bmax 1.30 gear and 24pt bravo one 4 blades, same top rpm's, \..From what the boat ran new and what it ran when i got it, was about 2mph, now there could be other factors to, Hustler says the boat is faster with 1.50 and 30. over a xr w/ 1.36 w/ stock power. I added Whipples and went from the 24 turning 5300 to 30's turning 6000.and 32's turned 57-5800,high prop slip.

I would say if your using the Imco lowers that there would not be much speed difference. Also im guessing the imco is more hydrodynamic. My old version bmax lowers was real ruff,I have worked it a bunch and prob didnt help it.

Like they say about I think the main diff in efficiency would be form the gear change

Also I think it depends on if its a v or a cat at 120mph+

if mine is slower from using a more durable drive, its worth a few mph

Thats my opinion

goodluck

the stock 30's were around 18, speed was 102 at 6000,I never figured the 32,32's made one pass at 102 at 5700,The 28's ran 99.8 at 6000 on low boost

I tried turning in the 30's it ran 105 at 6000.

all above non labbed

I just bought some herring 5bd 28, it was a little sluggish, never GPS it over 100,I just got them back from Bblades as he reworked them and loosened them up,I wanted about 300rpm .

hope this helps

As long as it's propped correctly for the new ratio, you shouldn't lose anything. I went from XRs to Bmaxs on my Spectre cat and my speed wasn't noticable. 118.5 with the XRs in cooler temps and 117.8 in hot temps with the Bmaxs. Didn't get a chance to test the Bmaxs in the cooler temps before selling the boat.

This is of course with the new style Bmaxs by John. He is continually improving the design of the case, he has also been working on a better lower case.

Very glad to hear that the new owner of b max has done a 180 with the company. I wish there was a few more companies that would give merc a run for their money.
