I am in the middle of a similar build.
I only spend a couple of months a year in Florida running my boats and wanted something that would be reliable with a cruise speed of 90+ to get down to the Keys etc.

Went with a 43 Supercat Arneson ASD8 drop boxes BPM sterntubes, & Seatek 10.3ls 800+ hp diesel motors.
These run four valves per cylinder polished forged rods and crank and spin up to 3100-3400 rpm on two bar of boost.
Zf301s with a ratio of 0.86 -1 giving a prop speed of around 3600rpm.

pics or it didnt happen... lol

comon brah post up some pics of that bad boy!

im wanting to go with cummins because of the support here in colombia, but will see what is here from the yanmar camp as far as parts and shops.

im looking for reliability and the seateks i dont think will hold up like the cummins or yanmars. Bad ass motors tho! But thirsty. Where r u?, and who can service, and get parts for your seateks?

Are the 10.3s srt8 sixes? Looking forward to seeing ur build!... thx, rm

Awesome rigging there bob!

Can u post a pick of the drives?

Do ur drives have the chain boxes to allow u to mount the drives at the height u wanted? Thx

Bob has the ASD8 In Line Drive units.

10l motors serial number 1648 up over had a lot of refinements to make them more reliable, parts from Italy are quick with good customer service from experience so far, if religious with servicing and oil changes the motors are surprisingly reliable.

Based in the UK but do my boating in Cape Coral normally during the winter months.
The chain boxes do allow for some height adjustment by altering the box angle.

I will go thru my archives but I don't think I have a pic of the butt end of the boat. It's on it's way up to Canada for the summer and can get pics on it's arrival. Think it's direct drive as there is no offset box on transom that I remember.

Internals are certainly beefy, this is a spare engine be prepped.

Originally a #VI boat but I needed reliability especially with the torque these motors make.

i

polishing the rods reduces the risk of breaking them, i did that to all my 10k rpm small blocks...

some nice looking hardware... what kinda tq do the seateks make? Thx

1400 depending on fuel and boost, progress will be slow due to my limited time in the US, really looking forward to getting it on the water.

Should make a nice reliable safe boat.

I think this was the boat you were originally looking for.
