LOTO Airports

What are my best options for airports to get to LOTO and how far of a drive?

F-2 Speedy 04-24-2015 05:14 PM

Direct flight in, probably KC, then 3-3.5 hrs to the lake depending what part your going to

314joey 04-24-2015 07:11 PM

Three choices;

Springfield, MO - 1 hour

KC, MO - 4 hours since you're new to the area

St. Louis, MO. - 3 hours same as KC

Now which airline flies into any of these cities for a descent price and do you have to have a direct flight.

F-2 Speedy 04-24-2015 07:20 PM

Springfield to LOTO in an hr.. maybe at buck 30, drivin it many times

BDiggity 04-24-2015 07:31 PM

Osage Beach direct! :)

F-2 Speedy 04-24-2015 07:55 PM

Inflight refueling, ticket includes embroidered parachute with your boat name :grinser010:

Wilks 04-24-2015 07:55 PM

springfield, mo on American.
Columbia, mo on delta
Both have low cost flights because of federal subsidies.

Nate5.0 04-24-2015 08:04 PM

Agree. Done it many a times. its only 90 miles and about 60 is freeway so you can haul ass for a long time and then do the twisty stuff at the end. 90 minutes or less

From the airport it is about the same from both.

JasonSmith 04-24-2015 10:38 PM

I just land at Osage Beach. Cy leaves his Caddy there for me & I drive to the condo. Takes 20 minutes after I tie the plane down.

what kinda plane?

omerta one 04-25-2015 10:14 AM

If your flying commercial into KC or STL - STL is a much better drive to the lake 2.5hr max from the airport (no rush hour) - divided highway the entire trip.

FREEDOM US1 04-25-2015 10:57 AM

Yup. Still got the ole gal. I have to land it in KC, then we take the Bonanza out and the trucks & boats. I fly to AIZ and my crew brings the boats down with the trucks.

JasonSmith 04-25-2015 02:27 PM

I looked into Chanooks a year ago so we could just fly the boats in from wherever we landed, but when we tried to lunch the boat the chopper blew over a camper and peeled all the tin off the docks and some poor woman trying to sunbathe on the courtesy dock lost her towel & top.

2.5 to the dam if there's no traffic. The dam is the closest part to STL.
