8 lbs per gallon water weight. 1 drum will do approx 400 lbs. 10 barrels 4000 lb boat. another 4 to 6 for the couple thousand lbs of structure. but i think they hafta be plumbed with PVC pipe a couple 3 inch diameter. not half inch pipe and gas station style air compressor.

For what its worth, you can eyeball these on the polylift site and get really close. Your hardest thing will be getting all the drums to get equal air.

If youve had a lift like this you know they run for 10-15 minutes and the boat barely gets out of the water then all of a sudden they POP up.
Is it a scary pop up as in holychit its gonna capsize lol.... thats why im thinking wider is better not much addl cost to do so

I can run a dist
valve for the air lines and i dont have a tiny compressor in a box on the dock. I have a mid size 220v that moves some air

Then i will have a huge safety factor with 3 rows of ten drums, 6500 boat, 2500 trailer and frame work, i will make handful holes in the bottom of the dums for the air to exit.

3" tubjng, bro its not a submarine lol, , i will see if i can get 1 inch fittings form the drums. I bet 5/8s is enough, with a distribution block the compressor will limit how fast i can raise it... i have a much larger compressor i can bring out if its too slow, but in the pics of the ones ive seen i never see a monster compressor in sight!

my 12k lift has 3 tubes, each supplied by 1"id hose. 3" pvc pipe will serve no purpose if you don't have the volume of air to support that size of pipe. Pressure does not raise the boat, air volume does. (To an extent)
You could raise your boat by blowing in the hoses. Might take a long time and be a little light headed, but it can be done. The air 'pumps' are nothing more than small blower motors that can move some serious volume of air. Put your hand over the outlet, you stop air flow. My single blower will fill the 3 tanks and raise my cruiser in about 2 1/2 min MAX. You are not pressurizing the tanks, just replacing the water with air.
