I boat between Atlantic city and cape also. The fisherman fish in the dead middle of the channel. They scream and cry when you rock the boat. They have no idea.

I don't know Stu, but I'm guessing those are his girlfriend's kids....
Rule of the jungle is you have to kill the cubs to get the lioness back in heat.

Little bit of a derail. I boat in the innercoastal between Atlantic City and Cape May. What are your thought about fisherman right in the middle of the channel or just outside and getting pissed that i cruise through? I grt flipped the bird multiple times a year. No hot rodding, cruise speed of about 35mph.

This happens to me multiple times a summer. The fisherman think that the waterways were created for them. They back up the entrance to our marina all the time and then get pi$$ed casue their lines get run over.

I cruise through pretty respectful but continue on my course. The 370 throws a large wake, the little boats get rocked a good bit. To be anchored or drifting in middle of the chanel seems irresponsible on their part, but i get the finger!!

I've had this several times. I'll alter my course to give a ressonable amount of distance but I sure as he!! am not killing speed or comming off plane so your seat doesn't get rocked. Throw me the bird all you want....I am down the channel and gone.

Well.... in my younger days an overactive finger from the fisherman would earn them a few close passes from my Waverunner with the pump trimmed all the way up... :gfight: For every action there is an equal but opposite reaction right?

Powerquest 230, didn't see him on Saturday or Sunday. But I think it must have been his wife and two girlfriends who decided it was best to kayak in the middle of the Anclote River just south of the 19 bridge. And not just in the middle, but three abreast! They gave me one of two choices - hit the sand bar or come to a complete stop. Hit the throttle after rounding the corner and getting past them. And I didn't really care what kind of waves they got. As Ron White tells us "there's no cure for stupid."

Hate to bust everyone's bubble and I find it annoying also however every boater is responsible for your own and any damage it causes. It is not illegal to fish in a channel. Some of you guys need to learn the rules also. And yes the rules of the road are written in stone (cfrs) and they are the end all be all to navigation.

I absolutely agree with your comment. However, there has to be some common sense applied in all situations amongst all participants.
