Motor help 2013 tiger wake boat
 

Motor in this boat is a pcm zr 450. Who makes the block in these things ? And has anyone had the enjoyment of working on this gem.

Isn't it a gm LS 6.0

I'm not sure. I looked in their website I couldn't find anything that said. Some of them had 6.2 raptor motors. That's what made me curious to if it was a Ford or Chev.

The ford will be a lot bigger and have big valve covers the LS will have real small valve covers. The coils on the ford are on top. The coils on the gm will be attached directly to the valve cover. At least that's how the automobile versions are.

I'm 99% sure this is a ford/indmar raptor collaboration. I've been in the plant a hundred times and I'm almost certain that is what is in there.

What is it doing? I know the factory is very good on customer service, might try giving them a shout. They are located in Abilene TX.

PCM engines & Crusader Engines were bought out last year - Correct craft boats who make wakeboard boats owns them now.

Your engine is a 6.0 L - GM based LS engine 364 CID or some call it a 366 CID - 450 hp with a Catanium Exhaust system - (CES) - Catalyst exhaust system. It is full compliance meeting all EPA emission standards mandated.

If you are doing maintenance that is fine but need to use the correct motor oil for the CAT system. Impeller changes can be done by the do it yourselfer if the know how is there. Fuel filter changes are easy. An inline and one in the long vertical fuel cell.

If you are doing medium to major service work - I do not recommend it as for 1 one you need the proper tools and the knowledge especially dealing with any of the engine management system and catalyst. I am NOT saying this to put you down. I see these motors all the time and work on them. Wakeboard boats are the number 1 selling boats in our area. I had to learn all about them many years ago form the OEM's. Just saying.

Ford re - enter the marine world with model year 2014 FWIW. Started production very end of 2013.

Bup- I think you are spot on. I wasn't aware that ford just recently introduced that to Tige'.

Its actually Indmar with help from - Ford and Roush racing who all teamed up to bring Ford back in the marine market. The 6.2 raptor engine starting model year 2014. Indmar is the only marine OEM marinizing Ford based engines currently.

PCM lost a lot of Market share. Correct Craft ( ski nautique / nautique ) has own PCM & Crusader engines now almost a year hence currently the only wakeboard boats you will see PCM engines installed for late and currently. It seems that Ski Nautique has used PCM for a long time and one of the reasons they bought PCM out plus PCM was not doing so well at that timeframe. Again PCM lost so much market share to Indmar.

Ilmor are installed in Mastercrafts for the past 5 years strong.

Indmar is installed in everything else that is a wakeboard boat along with other jetboat companies. Indmar is really pushing the Ford Raptor engine marinized by them in house located in TN.
