And while all that's being posted. Different opinions etc. Salt VS. fresh. NO DIFFERENCE. The difference is in care. Does salt water needs more care? Yes. Does Fresh water owners/marinas lack in care? Yes. Salt or fresh. Get to know the owner and the boats history. There can be lemons in both areas and jems as well.

this question is a no brainer, sorry guys. salt causes corrosion, take a look at Michigan cars. i'll take a texas car that wasn't in the salt anyday.

I washed my then 6 month old truck three plus times a week. still rusted out.

lol.. If that's your way of maintenance buddy... I would never by a FW boat from you. And like some said,, you have no clue.
I been in FW and SW. Both needs appropriate care. Once a year of washing the bilge in FW is not it. The biggest problem in FW boats that owners don't think what needs to be done. Thus the problems. Not tor mention the negative issues with frost. etc. I know many of marinas and owners in W and the winterization is not adequate. PERIOD.
