Hp 500......one more novice question
 

Ok so learning a lot about my engine on my newly purchased boat on here....one more question I don't trailer trailer my boat it stays on a lift in the water , I would like to flush my engine after a weekend of saltwater use, what is the best way to do this, my bilge has a fitting adapter for a garden hose, I've been told a normal garden hose will not be enough volume or pressure to satisfy cooling my motor. I don't want to wreck another water pump, I'd like to know how you guys do it. Hoping garbage pails of water isn't my only option. Thanks for your input, I'm new at boating...gotta start somewhere

Just get a good hose and you will be fine at idle. What part of Long Island are you from?

I have water down at my dock and use a pocket hose from the dock spigot to the boat and have never had any issues with too little water...

Where does the fitting "t" in? If after the pump, you dont even need to run the engine to flush.

I'm in Bellmore, thanks for the replys, I'm going to hook up my hose this weekend a give it a shot, I'm also going to look to see where the flush is T'd in before or after pump,

+1. Get a good 3/4 or 1 inch hose and don't rev above idle. Should be fine. Again don't rev the motors or it will suck the hose flat, idle only.
