Adapting to fly by wire
 

I have owned twin engine boats for almost 25 years and recently bought a Jupiter 31 Cuddy with twin 300 Verado’s with the digital throttles and shift. Anyone else had a struggle getting used to the way these engines shift and perform around the docks? When I’m docking the boat you don’t feel the boat going into gear and cannot hear the engines running! I keeping to look at the throttle indicators to determine if they are in gear are not, it’s like they are electric.
Anyway very impressed with the motors and the torque they have.

You will get used to it. Defiantly much smoother than cable systems.

Use the "Dock" button on your control box. This will reduce your engine power by 1/2, while using the entire full throw of the handle. It will make docking much easier. Just don't forget to disengage it before you take off.
