Default trim limit switch

Took my nova spyder to lake michigan for a sea trial today, I was pleased the engine ran great no leaks no drips the transom is water tight.got it on plane and went to adjust the trim no worky. Pulled the bolt out of the rams tied up the out drive to get home, found that the wires to the indicater and limit switches are rotted. Pulling a lower unit is as far as I have been with a I/O . Any idea what a boat shop would charge for this repair? Am I just being a *****? looks like if I got the bellhousing out maybe, will the gibal ring have come out to? I sure could use some good advice about now any help would be greatly appreciated. I'm not ticked off the least bit, I am convinced I got one hell of boat for 5 grand.

I just reread this, are you saying it wouldn't go up at all? If so you're problem may be the trim pump solenoid. Although you do need new senders as well.
Fella on here sells a kit with all the necessary items to align engine coupler pull bearing etc, very reasonable. Good luck, ken

I believe if it will trim "Down" and you can trim "Up" with the "Trailer" option (Not the Trim), you have a switch problem.

Mine did the same last week. No up with trim switch because I changed to an hp transom assembly, and now the trailer up took a chit. Clicks but no motor kicking on. Had to jump it with a wire to get the drive up.

I'll dig into mine tomorrow and see if I can come up with a solution that may help you also.

The solinoid on mine are not clicking so I'm sure to be dealing with more than one issue. I new going in ther would be issues its a1987. I'm realy jazzed abought this boat, lake michigan had soft 3 1/2 foot swells I could run 35-40 mph without needing a kidney belt, I thought she rode pretty good for a 26' hull I'm motivated il getter done.
