Post 01 Fountain 32w/540's HOW FAST?

I am building a 2001 fountain with Troy Dennis 540's, 600-625 H.P. Any guess to the top speed? Boat will have aluminum heads and a lighter engine hatch. Just curious if anyone out there has equivilent.

57, 58 if it's cold out

Ron P..I'd probably start with 30-32 pitch props actually with that power. I run 27's now with 415 hp.

502's whippled in one gets 95-96 mph, just not sure exactly how much HP that would rate with those setups.

My 29 with 500's pushed to 575 H.P.runs 91-93 and is quite a hand full with dynoed 29 Hydro. 4 blades. I'm just wondering if or how much faster the 32 will be.

Well, I'm not sure how much "faster" it would be, but from what I've heard (never been in a 29 yet, although I was looking when we bought) the 32 is more stable at speeds and handled the twins better, less wild of a ride. I dont' think there is a huge difference in speeds. The 29 with 502's ran 81 on the factory spec sheet, and 32' can run close, but not quite that fast all things similar. The 32 factory sheet I have just says 76+. So, not much help from Reggie. Or I'm just a better driver than him. LOL!

So, as you're thinking I'm sure, you'll lose speed due to 3' more length but you're putting in 50 more horse per side.

I bet you'd run 89-90 with the 575 hp motors in a 32, so you should see 94-95 with the 32 with 625 hp, just a guess. What the hell do I know, though, just babbling.

KAAMA, what do you think? That's like your motors with my hull, why don't we swap a season so I can help Roger out???? LOL!

Mark

DJD, Nope, We are just going to get this one dialed in. Maybe work on the handling, get the bottom checked, and slip in a bigger NOS bottle. The superchargers we were thinking about would not quite fit under the EFI system so we opted for bigger cubes and more torque. Hope to see you and the tall guy next year. Hope the wife is doing OK and maybe you will have a [Good] throttle man in a few weeks. LOL

A 32 on our lake with a conventional bottom runs 85+ with Tyler Crockett 600HPs.
