grease on you're balls?

I don't care for the spray personally, very very cold. When it comes time to hitch up, you find that 2-5/16" isn't all there, if you know what I mean.

Hmm Most gentlemen lube the coupler first of course... there's a bit of finess to it but onced lubed you just hit it and go.....no messy residue....well sometime's anyway's.

to avoid the messy, greasy stuff, I just spit a little on top of the ball head before it penetrates the coupler...

T'ain't a good reason not to lube your balls! I use the silicone or lithium to keep the discoloration to a minimum. Of course all my balls are only 2", don't know if it makes a difference. I am very proud of the length of my surge actuator though, and I clean/polish it to keep it in good operating order.

we use marine grease. Sadly enough we use the tennis ball routine. I can't tell you the number of times someone has either touched the hitch or rubbed it against with there shorts. Never fails. I actually remember one time I warned someone to be careful and not lean on it. One minute later they are leaning on it. Smh.

I've started using chain lube, leaves a waxy residue and isnt a dirt magnet. So far seems to be working well.

Hmm, I run all mine bone dry. Never had an issue. But my ball is very rusty.
