Anchoring question? Danik hook ?

1 Attachment(s)
I don't anchor to often but when I do I have to tie anchor line off port or stbd. bow cleat which are both set back a foot or two from the bow. I also have a navigation light dead center at tip of bow obstructing a direct line to the anchor. Problem is the boat then swings back and forth which is very annoying. It never finds its center with current/wind. Question is, has anyone had this issue and rigged some sort of bridle ? Or has anyone used a Danik Hook from slide anchor ? Is it possible to use one to hold anchor on eye hook ? and Is it strong enough to hold a 35' boat in a protected bay ? This would be just day boating not for overnighting. Any other ideas ?

What about running the anchor line through the bow eye, and then up to one of the cleats?

Given that you have the very nice recessed cleats, how about going ahead and getting a pop up bow light?

They also make pop up line chocks which may be an option

Got room for a 2nd anchor? I used to carry 2 and drop one of the stern and tie to the rear cleat.

I toss the anchor off the back or side, walk the line to the bow and hook to a carabiner in the front eyelet tie off where ever. Sucks to drop the anchor on the bow....worst yet your wife does it.

I always use both cleats (tie around both) and toss off dead center. Usually though If I have a front in I also have the back in pretty much every time to hold the boat in place

I like the carabiner idea. Just cleat the anchor off to one of the cleats on the bow, but have some type of (quite strong) carabiner to hook over the set line, and then onto the bow eye. Just make sure it's not going to do any damage. You might try slipping a piece of clear silicone hose over the majority of the carabiner.

I've tied off to the bow cleat and the just looped it through the eye and back up around the cleat before to keep it from rubbing back but the carabiner idea sounds a lot better. Never even thought of that before. Got plenty of nice climbing ones lying around my house and gunna give it a try next week on vacation.
