Boat lift suggestions / advice
 

Looking for some advice or suggestions on a boat lift for my '24 Sunsation Rocket.... standard 24x7 boat.

- Can anyone make a recommendation on type of lift for the lot that I am on? See pics below... My guess is an elevator lift??

- Can an elevator lift be installed on the slightly smaller pilings that hold up the dock?? Or will the dock need to be removed... OR 2 new larger pilings installed out by the edge of the dock?

- Not sure on the weight of my boat, but someday I see going to a bigger 28' (maybe twin engine) powerboat... What weight would be recommended?? Im sure my like 24' will be fine on it for now...

- Any recommendations on installers/dealers in the Ocean County, NJ area??

- Suggestions for manufacturers of lifts or who to stay away from?

Take a look at No Profile boat lifts they are not cheap but they are nice.

Take a look at my project and the quality of lift that IMM delivered. I have a post on here in the GD forum. Just search for IMM Boat Lift and I'm sure you'll find it

It looks like an elevator lift is probably your best choice given the shape and location of your dock in proximity to your neighbors. I don't think you will have enough room to maneuver if you had a four post.

With that said, elevator lifts are much harder to install than 4 posts. You will need two 10" or 12" (depending on capacity of the lift) piles installed and tied back into the bulkhead with threaded rod. The tracks need to be set at the correct angle and be parallel with each other. Another important thing is the track needs to be set into the mud deep enough to carry the load, 6-8ft. I made the mistake of having an elevator lift installed by a bulkhead company when I had my bulkhead re-done. The tracks were not set correctly and the lift would bind as well as the front track sunk the first time I put a heavy boat on it. They only had the tracks set in 2 ft. If I were to do it again I would use Atlantic Boat lifts, they have the experience and knowledge to do it right the first time.

Yes they are out of point pleasant. I believe they manufacture their own lifts and distribute for other companies. Price wise you are probably looking at 10-15k!

I can see maybe spending 10k... but 15k, god damn... lift wI'll have cost more than my boat did, lol
