Spark Plug Torque Setting

Changing my plugs on my 525 EFI, what is the torque setting? Owners manual does not say and I'm Googled out. Any advice on making this easier since there is minimal room between the headers? I'm assuming an extension on the socket, but wasn't sure if anyone had any tricks.

I have never torqued a spark plug in my life.

anti seize on the spark plug and when your elbow pops all is good...

I see people, including mechanics, fk up NGK's all the time. They can't seem to get the jist of the crush washer they use. I love'm !

Edit in: they leave'm loose by mistake. Okay, stupidity.

I'm sorry OP.

GM says 22ftlbs on plugs in their cast iron heads. Got that from my Alldata subscription

Edit: I see you mentionmed 525, so it has aluminum heads. I use copper antisieze, just a small smear on end a thread or two down from the tip side. You don't want any entering the combustion chamber.

HArd to describe. Sorry.

General rule of thumb, if they are spark plugs with a gasket, hand tight plus 1/2 to 2/3 a turn, tapered seat, 1/16 turn more.

15ftlbs on aluminum heads. Looked up Subaru and Toyota. LOL.

I had a Swiss friend that used that setting, he was also the guy that introduced me to time-serts, an item he seemed to use a lot of. :drink:

Yep, that's what my manual says. I've never torqued a spark plug in my life either though. After you've done your first few hundred you do it by feel. I agree with a bit of anti-seize but I don't always use it.

I always use anti-seize on aluminum heads, cast no........... tighten till just before you hear the porcelain pop

Third, while you were up last weekend, I could have had you change them, lol. I'm no mechanic and didn't want to f anything up. Thanks for the feedback.
