Biggest boat ramp fail I've ever seen

I think he realized he forgot to put the plug in and didn't want the boat to fill up with water.

I once saw someone arrive at the ramp with there freshly rebuilt 69 camaro RS-SS and a brand new Sanger Hydro. He backed down the ramp and got out to take the tie downs off after he got out something happened to the parking brake (he left the motor running) and the entire rig rolled back in to the water, the boat was still strapped the trailer so it when right under. When all was said and done the entire rig was in 40 feet of water and required a diver and two tow trucks to retrieve it. The 3 year total rebuild was just completed and he had not raised his insurance from when got the car (a roach) so he only had it insured for $10,000 (now worth $50K)

looks like the throttle got stuck and when he realized it he shifted forward..sucks...

You're looking at the guy who when he's 80 will mistake the accelerator for the brake and drive his car through A Starbucks window.

I think someone was driving off with his truck and he wasn't havin' none a that shet!!!

Would like to know what the story is. Seems a tad bit overboard for forgetting your drain plug.

An Apache would have crushed that concrete like a jackhammer all the way to the next adjacent lake....which is really saying something when you consider the video is from Havasu.

Someone on another forum said those come with a LH prop and the guy probably swapped it for a RH and freaked out when it went the wrong way. Made sense to me, if you look at it in the beginning it looks like he's trying to pull back up to the concrete and it goes in reverse. Probably panicked after that. Not sure why it sounds like its on the limiter lol that was just a bad decision.

x2. First thing that came to mind was flip flopped props.

Ive grabbed the throttles and shoved em full throttle a couple times thinking I was shifting into forward till my brain realized shifters are not on the right hand side anymore on the new boat.

I'd love to know what happened here....at first I was thinking the rough idle may be the rev limiter but you can hear him rev it up past that at 10 seconds in the video so no clue if he has some 1000hp dragster engine or what the heck I'm hearing.

to me it looks like he gassed it a little to get off the trailer..... at that point the throttle stuck at a high idle. Then looks like he jammed it in forward and the rest is the result..... I've seen the exact thing happen at my marina once and after a bit of panic the guy pulled the kill lanyard, problem solved..... but in a panic sh*t happens.......

He should have used 20w50 synthetic on the throttle cable instead of 25w40 conventional. Ya know, tolerances and stuff.

if you keep watching the video , what is up with all the people watching people launch their boats? is there nothing to do there or there must be some really great entertainment at boat ramps in havasu .

I think hit reverse and throttle at the same time and the rest was pure panic.

I know on my old profile the sticks were mounted low on a floor pod, there was more than one occasion when I shoved it into gear and my forearm hit the throttle...talk about dockbuster! Actually a huge safety issue, if the automotive world it would have been a recall.

Cosmic intervention! Potential disaster averted by that vessel not operating on the lake that day.

Think I'm gonna save these videos to my favorites so whenever the financial side of my mind gets down on me for spending a bag of cash on my lifted slip I can watch them and feel all better.

If I was driving I'd have made it back onto the trailer lol
