Correction - I had originally heard that the seas were 2' to 3', WRONG...it was 2' to 3' on top of 8' to 9' rollers. If you are on Instagram go follow ApachePowerboats and there is some nice footage of them running. Not sure why its not posted here as the swell are awesome. Seeing is believing. GREAT JOB on that run.

"It is a heroic gesture, to have overcome so many difficulties," says Commodore Díaz Gautam, Director of the international Hemingway Yacht Club in Havana, who supported the project from the outset. The time for the route was not essential for Klüh, in the foreground, the unifying idea was: "I'm glad that go to the United States on Cuba," says Klüh at a press conference upon his arrival in Havana. "It has allowed me to make my dream come true." |

All the spot timing and the German boating website say it took an hour and 45 minutes
Here is the starting point and ending point for the 1 hour 50 minute time it took them to travel 105 miles. They are saying it was over 110 miles so if you add a few to each end it would be a little bit more time then the chart and spot tracker show. And I think the wave reports for sea height match more with wind speed along the run then with wave height, maybe they were mis-quoted? |
