Cool Exhaust tips - noise reduction

Searched all through site and looked all over yet cannot find much definitive first person reports on what works best. I have a 525 that is stock other than the computer upgrade done by Ozark Speed/Marine. Looking for a tip that will reduce noise, but not lose that sweet sound (at lower decibel) or effect motor with too much back pressure. What has worked for y'all, or not worked, and which product would you recommend. Looking for real world experience not just someone pushing a product that they have never used.

Thanks in advance!

Shotguns work well at taking the bark out without affecting performance. Worked well on a 454 mag I had and also a 502 mag. Just kind of mellows it out at idle and lower rpms.

I agree, Drew Marine Shotguns work well to take off some bark at idle through 3000 rpms.

I have the ggb inserts. No change in performane, but mellows ut out. Still has a nice sound, just kills the loud bark.

The boat currently has the Corsa 5" Big Gun tips on it so I don't believe I could put the Shotguns on over that tip. I assume that is how this piece works. I do like the idea of the Shotguns though, but believe I would have to get some 4 or 4.5" tips first.?

Not sure about the shotguns, but GGB has 5" inserts and add-ons. http://marineexhaust.ggb.ca/insert/insert-5-inch

Have two sets for twins. I will separate if I have to. $1500 per set + the ride.

I have the cmi 5" on my 36'. They take the low speed bark out but still sounds great.

Thanks! The tips are Custom Marine. They have a series of 7 matching stationary plates rotated on 20 degree increments (spiraled). I actually called to have them make me a set with just the outer plate. They quoted me $1200 but I never got back to it since I kind of like the sound where it is. There is still no mistaking the distinctive sound of the 525's.
