BAHA 340 Mach 1 Combo

Anybody on here have any experience with the Baha 340 Mach 1 Combo (MCOB) boats? Or maybe the 290's?
I'm looking at purchasing a 2001 340 and seems like a good solid boat with a layout that suits me, but I cant find much history on them or many others for sale.
With the twin 454's, the 9'6" beam 25 degree hull, and weighing 9600lbs dry, I dont expect it to be a speed demon (60mph max). Which I am fine with.

Just curious to hear other opinions on this boat if anybody has run across one or owned one.

My dock neighbor has a 290. The local dealership used to sell them. Solid, good riding boats. Fit and finish, rigging, etc. can be suspect. For example, my neighbor's 290 glass and gel work is terrible. Sides are extremely wavy, print thru, gel lacks gloss, tons of silicone everywhere, etc. A buddy of mine used to work at the dealer that sold them. They ordered in a single engine 290 with a 496 MAG HO and a 340 with twin 496 MAGs. The 290 was delivered with a single 496 MAG and the 340 had one MAG, one MAG HO. You cannot make this stuff up!

Look over whatever you buy very carefully.

Thanks Knot 4 Me
Any info in regards to stringers, transom, or other issues that may be hidden from inspection?
I read somewhere that these boats had a lifetime warranty on the stringers. Of course that warranty doesnt do anything since the company is out of business. But hopefully they took some extra time in this section of the build knowing that warranty was out there.

I do plan to have a survey and motor inspection prior to purchase.

Haven't really heard anything in regards to stringers, transom, etc. There are a lot of these boats running around LOTO so if they had weak stringers that would show up quickly there. My guess is they are no different than any other mass produced boat in this regard. All depends on the day/people if they properly glassed stuff in and sealed things up. Just get a survey and look over the boat closely. They are a lot of boat for the money. I personally would go with Envision for the type of boat you are looking for. Their attention to detail was much better and I know for a fact they are solid boats. They made a 29, 32, and 36 MCOB. Good luck!

Mach 1 changed hands over the years and I know some year's boats are better than others. I think some of the earlier boats in the 90's were better than what was being produced in the 2000's. The ones I've been around were built in the 2000's and they are hit and miss. I actually looked at a 290 (the one with the wrong engine!) and it was a lot of boat for the money at the time (mid-2000's I believe) but I thought there was too much of a tradeoff in fit and finish for my liking. The one next to me on my dock is an '05 I believe. Good looking boat as it has a Vincent paint job. But its flaws stand out even 5 - 10 feet away. A lot of distortion in the deck and hull around the rubrail. Probably more cosmetic than structural.

Mines in fair shape for a 24 year old boat. Stress cracks and some flaws, most of what's wrong is from p/o neglect and work above their skill level. I've Been tying up loose ends as I go. Wiring under helm has been a pain. Snip grab power from here for whatever. Just shade tree mechanic repairs I'm fixing properly.

Thanks guys.
Good info for things to watch out for.
Any idea when they stopped making the 340 combo?

Good link to the ebay brocure.
