How do get boat off trailer, safely?
I'm sure it's on here somewhere but what's the best way to get boat off trailer to paint and service it, other than a boat launch? I have a formula 311.

Call a local marina or boat repair shop and see about them pulling it off for you or rent a slip till its done .

jack and block

The best way would be to take it to a marina and have them use a fork truck, or YardArms to remove the boat and place it on a storage rack or blocks.
Pardon the redneck and the rudimentary tools this guy used, but just about any boat could be done this way: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RRvTDlQ0tys If it were me, I would be using solid cinder blocks and a large floor jack... ...vs. the hollow cinder blocks and bottle jack in the video. |

Did anyone else's blood pressure rise watching those videos? I think I would pay someone to stack mine for a couple weeks. My trailer has about 7,365 cross members and my stern is full even with the rear cross member. Good luck with whatever you choose!

Yeah I'm with you on that one. I take pride in doing stuff myself but watching these videos made me nauseous. At most I would use my car hoist after I pulled the motors and drives but then the shop would be to full to work on the trailer. I'm thinking I might try to dock it for a couple days on my local lake. The closest marina that could do it is a couple hours away. Thanks |
I've done it 5 times now, pretty simple actually

I made stand for the back. Used chromoly tubing as a sleeve with adjustable scaffold legs slid into the tubing. I just welded the tubing into an automotive jack stand. I used those for the nack. Then lift the front with a good large floor jack and pill the trailer out. Then set the from on a 6x6 notched in the 2 inches in with 3 stand across it.
