Who puts a boat on a flat bed like that?

Why didnt he just tow it with the hitch? Is that too much to ask?

As noted above, the hitch on that trailer is all twisted around.

The pic is more likely the tow truck that picked up the trailer after the accident.....hopefully anyway...lol.

^ that made me chuckle.

What a crappy way to ruin a nice boat.

Come on folks. The flatbed picked up the trailer after the wreck. The coupler is all wadded up, and where would the motors go if it was on trailer like that; resting on the center console?

To clarify...I kinda figured in the original post that the rollback was removing the trailer because the tong was basically gone. It was just funny that it took me a second to realize that. Anyhow, seems to me the original tow vehicle rear ended the SUV with the damage on the back that you can see on the side of the road in the video.

Since the rear of the trailer looks straight seems likely that the boat was not strapped to the rear of the trailer...not that straps would have completely kept the boat on the trailer. But they would have helped.

From the looks of the marks on the road, the driver might have swerved some with the brakes on the floor and therefore didnt hit the SUV going straight...then the boat came off the trailer(which wasn't in line with the tow vehicle) glanced off the left rear of the tow vehicle hit the road at an angle "hooked" and rolled.

John

gotta love the headline, "boat slips off trailer". I didnt realize that slipping off something meant sliding across the pavement and rolling upside down.

We use to want to know what really happened. I guess those days are gone.
