Boat launch fail
Can someone send me the link to that video of the guy launching his boat then hammering it forward running it onto the concrete. It's a recent video
Thanks I can't find it. |

Oh yeah a classic. Thanks. How about the real life one that was posted not long ago.

Yep that's it thank you!

Anyone know the real story on this? I just can't wrap my head around how this happens? He had a good 3-4 seconds to stop the madness, I just don't understand??

I actually watched someone do the same thing at the launch a few years ago. Unfortunately my boat was hit by a girl that freaked out at the controls and launched her boat into the back of my Baja. Total loss of boat for the driver and 14K worth of damage to my Baja. I was still sitting on my trailer ready to launch when she hit me going full throttle forward. Pushed the whole boat/trailer/truck back up the ramp.

He found reverse OK when backing off the trailer.. but when he wanted to go forward he found the throttle instead.. whoops..in a panic he went to the other shorter stick and found forward without returning throttle to idle.. then all panic set in. Great video.. my bet is he is changing to a quicksilver push button shifter |
There was a pretty detailed explanation on RDP
ECU failure combined with operator error The popping was the engine bouncing off the rev-limiter in neutral if memory serves and then the driver put it in gear…bad combination…I'll see if I can find the link. I was pretty skeptical but after reading the whole thread I tend to believe the explanation. Thread is here http://www.riverdavesplace.com/forum...ht=ecm+failure ECM, Low Voltage, Whatever….at the end of the day the operator should have shut it off as soon as it was evident there was a problem |
